Cajun Crawfish Fritters
Crispy fritters filled with crawfish meat, Cajun spices, and bell peppers, served with homemade remoulade sauce.
Ingredients
- 250 g Cooked crawfish
- 150 g Flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 medium Egg
- 100 ml Milk
- 1/2 medium Red bell pepper
- 2 stem Green onion
- 2 clove Garlic
- 1 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Fresh thyme
- 100 g Mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp Sriracha sauce
- 1/2 fruit Lemon
Instructions
Step 1
Make the remoulade sauce by mixing mayonnaise, sriracha, and lemon juice. Set aside.
Step 2
Shell the crawfish and finely mince the meat with garlic, red bell pepper, and green onion.
Step 3
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, paprika, Cayenne, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
In another bowl, whisk the egg with milk and add the dry ingredients.
Step 5
Gently fold the crawfish mixture into the batter.
Step 6
Heat the oil to 170°C in a deep fryer or heavy pot.
Step 7
Using two spoons, form fritters and carefully drop them into the hot oil. Fry 2-3 minutes per batch until golden.
Step 8
Drain on paper towels and serve hot with remoulade sauce.
