Salt Cod Fritters
Crispy Caribbean-style fritters made with salted cod and vegetables, deep-fried until golden. Served as an appetizer or starter with a spicy sauce.

Ingredients
- 300 g Salt cod
- 150 g Flour
- 200 ml Water
- 1 piece Egg
- 3 stem Green onions (chives)
- 0.5 piece Scotch Bonnet pepper
- 2 clove Garlic
- 15 g Fresh parsley
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 3 g Salt and pepper
- 600 ml Frying oil
Instructions
Step 1
Soak the salt cod for 12 hours the day before, then cook for 10 minutes and flake it
Step 2
Mix the flour, baking powder, egg, and water to form a smooth batter
Step 3
Add the flaked cod, green onions, pepper, garlic, and chopped parsley
Step 4
Mix well and let rest for 5 minutes
Step 5
Form small balls using two tablespoons
Step 6
Fry the fritters in oil at 180°C for 4 minutes, flip and cook for 2 more minutes
Step 7
Drain on paper towels and serve hot
